Vintage Breyer Molding Co.Classic Dapple Grey Duchess Model 3040DU

Description

Beautiful matte finish classic dapple grey Breyer horse. The horse was sculpted by Chris Hess and first introduced in 1980. Attributed to Duchess Model # 3040DU. Interesting paint job!  It is two toned grey with 4 brown stockings , black mane, tail and eyes. There is darker cross hatching on the front shoulder and rear on the one side. The tail is not attached to the rear leg.  The inside of the rear leg is clearly marked Breyer Molding Co. This model measures approx. 8 inches long and 7 inches high.
I am not an expert on Breyers ! I'm a city girl that does know one end of the horse from the other but that's about it.  I use "Identify Your Breyer" site for more information.  Other than that, I describe what I see.
There is possible damage to the very tip of the ear.  I pictured it the best I could.
