Description
This is from a relative's estate and is a beautiful stoneware pottery pitcher in a vivid blue featuring an ice lip and a fitted lid. This was considered a modern art deco design, way ahead of it's time when it was created in the late 1940's or 1950's. This pitcher is not identified on the bottom but research seems to indicate this was made for refrigerator accessories by the Hall China Company for for either Montgomery Ward or Westinghouse. There are no chips, cracks or flea bites and this looks just about new except for shelf discoloration on the very bottom and any other flaws would be those made during creation. This pitcher is a nice large size, measuring about 8.5" high with the lid on, 8" wide from handle to spout edge and 4 .5" across the widest area and holds 64 ounces. The lid fits nicely into well placed slots on the top and there is a smaller ice lip for the convenience of holding chunks inside. This pitcher is very fine vintage ware and so usable today! Very heavy and well balanced! It is heavy and I may have to adjust the amount for shipping depending on your zip code area but will refund immediately if I have asked to much for shipping.

If I have asked too much money to ship to your area, you will get a refund immediately. I will do whatever possible to reduce the cost of shipping. The amount listed here is simply an estimate and very seldom is it increased, and then only for real distance, weight of the package and insurance. A corrected invoice will be sent if necessary. I reserve the right to ask for and receive the real amount for shipping costs. Payment is due within three days of the auction ending time. Thanks for looking and good luck always!
BY PLACING A BID ON OR PURCHASING AN ITEM YOU AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS STATED BELOW. VERY IMPORTANT: The SHIPPING CARRIER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS WHEN ITEMS ARE INSURED. Any insurance claims or monetary claims for items damaged during transit will be strictly between the buyer and the freight company in question. I pack items with care but when the carrier takes possession, I can’t guarantee safety. In the unlikely event that an item is damaged during shipping transit, You, the Buyer, agree to file the insurance claim with the U.S. Post Office for reimbursement. I will send you the necessary receipts for you to file a claim with the Post Office. It is YOUR responsibility to file a claim for any insured items that are damaged because that is what Insurance is purchased for. This is the U.S. Post Office requirement and this information is found on their web site on the “File A Claim” page. I can NOT file claims with the Post Office for you. E Bay might tell you differently, but the U.S. Postal Regulations and Requirements are very clear. In order for the claim to be processed with the Post Office, the receiver of the damaged item must file the claim at their local Post Office or you may file online. You will need to keep the damaged item, the box with the labels on it, and all of the original packing materials as the Post Office may require them for proof of damage.
If the item is broken or damaged during shipping (I ALWAYS inspect everything before it leaves here) and there is insurance on the item, the claim must be started at the buyer's location and should not be returned to me. Always contact me to make sure that you have everything you need to do this. I wrap very well and don't expect there to be any problems.
