PETERSON 1978 EBONY STERLING SILVER SPIGOT SHAPE 312 ESTATE PIPE COMPLETE

I'm a huge Peterson fan and have been so since I bought my very first pipe at their store on Grafton St. in Dublin many many years ago. While other pipe makers have made precious metal spigots over the past 100+ years, Peterson remains the most consistent and their production during the 1970's-1980's turned out many stunning pieces like this Sterling Silver Ebony Spigot from 1978! While called Ebony, it's much different than a black or dress finish and is actually a deep and rich chestnut. Featured here in a classic and iconic shape 312, it doesn't get a whole lot better! The 312 shows off every facet of Peterson's propensity towards muscular profiles with it's robust bowl that offers thick walls and a chamber affording plenty of capacity. The transition is stout to an almost 3/4 bent chubby round shank that is adorned with a brilliant Sterling Silver mount which holds the equally beautiful Sterling Silver Spigot fishtail vulcanite stem with perfect bend for comfort. As previously mentioned the finish is a rich chestnut and when held to the light you can see lovely swirling birdseye covering the flanks with fine cross grain to the front and rear just offset. This now 43 year old Peterson is in excellent condition and comes complete with original box and papers. A fantastic Peterson not to be missed!!
