Hybrid shell with free-floating design
The Championship CarbonCore FFXCC snare drum’s hybrid shell consists of a 100% 6-ply maple outside with a carbon fiber inner ply. The carbon core boosts the snare’s projection and articulation, allowing players to clearly enunciate each note and easily cut through the full ensemble. Meanwhile, the outer maple shell provides warmth and color to the snare’s tone, giving the snare a full-bodied presence. The FFX’s entire shell is also free of any mounting hardware. Instead, it’s held together using aluminum-alloy hardware in a free-floating design. This design reduces the drum’s weight and gives the shell complete freedom to vibrate and produce rich tones that compliment the entire drumline.
