    Description

    This is a porcelain Chinese pillow that is of a boy laying on his stomach with feet crossed and one foot kicked up.  This is done in a light blue gray and darker blue (it is not blue and white).  There is a lot of detail so please be sure to check out the pictures.  He is 7.5 inches long at the base and at the tallest point stands about 6 inches.  This is in very good condition with the only item to note is some type of mark on the back of the head.  I am not sure what it is or even how to describe it so please see pictures.  The bottom of the pillow is actually textured and does have one round hole.  There are also holes in the ears and nose.  Most pillows are not solid and will have at least one hole to help the heat escape from the pillow and maintain its shape in the kiln.  You could also use the hole to fill the pillow with fragrant flowers or herbs so the other holes in this piece would allow the scents to escapes.  I’m really not sure of the age of this piece but I know this was purchased in Hong Kong I believe in the 70’s or 80’s and this person also bought other antiques at the same time so I believe this was an antique when purchased.   Regardless it is a unique piece and I am sure you will be as intrigued by it as most people who see this!    Also be sure to by the check out my shop, ‘not2shabbyshop’ for more great vintage items!
