VERY CUTE THREE-DIMENSIONAL PIECE CREATED IN THE IMPERIAL JAPAN, DURING THE MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), CIRCA 1900. THIS SMALL SCULPTURE, SHOW THE CARVED FIGURE OF A SEATED WORKER FULLY DRESSED WITH A DECORATED KIMONO, CARVING A HARDSTONE. IT WAS MADE FROM A NATURAL CARVING WITH EXCELLENT CRAFTMANSHIP AND WITH GREAT INTRICATE DETAILS.
IS SUITED AT THE REVERSE WITH THE CHARACTERISTIC DOUBLE HOLES TO BE ATTACHED TO THE
OJIME
BALL AND THEN TO THE
INRO
BOX. HAVE REMAINS OF THE BROWN-OCHRE INK ACCENTS
THIS PIECE HAVE A MEASURES OF 78 mm BY 36 mm BY 22 mm (3.07 x 1.41 x 0.86 Inches) AND HAVE A WEIGHT OF 55.4 Grams.
