Hand-Carved Oriental Wood Pedestal - Stand - Base, Ornate Lacquered Deep Maroon.
About 7" wide, 4.75" tall by 4" thick.  It sits on a firmly attached  1/4" platform embellished with fine gold lines and 4 feet.  Weighs 1 lb. 2.2 oz.
Numerous chips in the finish and the top platform is rough.  There is a screw hole in the center and a nail hole toward one end.  But no cracks or other damage.  See pictures for better description.
On one side is a flat area with a green impressed strange writing or symbol.
