DESCRIPTION:
This is all china drip coffee pot in the Mount Vernon pattern.  The blue & pink decals on the high white are most eye-catching.  The gold bands are distinctive to the pattern. This Coffee pot contains all 4 pieces that came originally: (1) The Lid which fits both pots, (2) The infuser (top pot) where coffee grounds are placed, (3) The cover for the coffee grounds which fits inside the infuser pot, and (4) The pot with the handle and spout to hold the coffee for serving.
CONDITION:
While this set is classified as used, its condition is superb.  The only issue is a slight indentation in the rim of the foot of the bottom piece which was glazed over and then trimmed over in the gold trim paint.  See photo # 5.  Oops, I just found something else.  Look at the lower handle on photos #1, #2, & #8.  On the edge just above the gold trim is a small spot where debris has worked its way out of the slip before the glaze coat was applied.  This is also a Hall manufacturing defect (which were very common).  Otherwise, we can find no chips, nicks, scratches, cracks, hairlines, or repairs.  There is no wear to the decals and (of course) no crazing.  Please carefully inspect the photos to see how good the condition of this set is.
DIMENSIONS:
The overall width handle to spout is 10".   It is 11 1/2" tall at the tip of the finial on the lid.  This item is heavy, weighing 87 ounces before packing.
HISTORY/MARKS:
When the East Liverpool Potteries Company was dissolved in 1903, Robert Hall, one of the principals, formed Hall China Company.  After his untimely death in 1904, his young son, Robert Taggert Hall took over and made it his mission to rediscover the long lost process from the Ming Dynasty of producing a non-lead based glazed china using a single fire process.  He succeeded by 1911 creating the craze-proof finish for which Hall China became famous for over 100 years.  Hall China remained in the extended Hall family until they merged with Homer Laughlin China Company across the river in Newell, West Virginia, the manufacturer of Fiesta.  Hall China is still in production today operating in their original facility on Anna Avenue.  Hall used the HALL's Mount Vernon Harmony House mark from 1942-1948 and this is the mark on the bottom of this set and this was retailed by Sears.  As Hall collectors ourselves, we tend to be very picky and find it necessary to point out anything we see.  We believe you will be very satisfied with this vintage Hall Mount Vernon All China Drip Coffee Pot.
