. The Performance Series also includes their proprietary "turret lug", a smaller version of the famous round DW lugs found in the Collector's Series. These snare drum lugs have a "propeller" shape that is iconic to Performance Series snare drums. True-pitch lugs keep the snare drum in tune throughout the gig with their 5mm threads every 0.8mm, 20% more threads then the standard tension rod. The result is a precise tuning experience only found in Drum Workshop snare drums.
10-Ply HVX Maple Shells
Constructed of hand selected North American hard rock maple, these 10-ply shells are created using a proprietary shell making technique created by John Good and the DW Custom Shell Shop in California. HVX shells deliver a low, punchy, fundamental note, with a great amount of resonance and projection that stands out during live performances.
DW MAG Snare Throw-off
Featuring a simple but effective design, the patented MAG throw-off allows for easy adjustment of the snare wires without applying too much force. This is because the adjustment knob is horizontal, such a simple change to a traditional throw-off system but so effective when in use. The magnetic lever allows for you to release the snare wires with a slight tug, no need to fully grip the throw-off during performances, the magnetic mechanism allows for adjustments on the fly to be easy and effortless.
Remo Drum Heads
The snare drums come with Remo coated control sound batter heads (with tuning sequence numbering) and clear snare side resonant heads. The tuning sequence number system allows for you to tune the drum in a way that allows for the best performance of the drum head. Just follow the numbering system in order and listen to your drums sing when you are done.
