The "Bless this House" cross stitch sampler is inspired by a brass plaque which has hung in the six different homes David and I have lived in since our marriage.  On the back of the plaque, in Mamie Doud Eisenhower's handwriting are the words:  "For David, this plaque hung in the family quarters of the White House for the eight years of your grandfather's tenure as President of the United States of America 1953-1961.  Love your Grandmother, Mimi. Mamie Doud Eisenhower.
I hope that you come to cherish , as I do, the words of the Blessing written over a hundred years ago written by Helen Taylor; and the bounty of fruits and flowers, the blue birds of happiness and the doves of peace remind you of all the good things in life.  The Blessing is an especially meaningful wedding or housewarming gift.
